Slovakia: Farmers Drive Tractors to Capital to Protest Alleged EU Subsidy Fraud

Slovak farmers from across the country arrived in Bratislava on their tractors late on Tuesday, to protest against alleged fraud in the European Union farm subsidiary reimbursement programme. The farmers are demanding clear rules for land usage rights as well as transparent EU farm subsidiary distribution. The protest organisers have requested a meeting with Prime Minister Peter Pellegrini, after Agriculture Minister Gabriela Matecna refused to meet them.
