Police clashed with protesters in Hong Kong on Sunday after hundreds of thousands marched to oppose the government's proposed extradition bill, which would allow political dissidents to be sent to mainland China for human rights violations and more often than not, execution.
The demonstration turned violent outside the parliament and government headquarters in the Admiralty business district. Footage shows police attempting to disperse crowds and using pepper spray (banned under international law) as tensions rose, and protesters throwing projectiles at the security forces.
