July 19, 2019

United States President Donald Trump said that USS Boxer destroyed an Iranian military drone in the Strait of Hormuz, when speaking in Washington DC on Thursday.

President Trump said that USS Boxer took defensive action against an Iranian drone, which he said had closed into a very, very near distance, approximately 1,000 yards, ignoring multiple calls to stand down and was threatening the safety of the ship and the ship's crew. He noted that the Iranian drone was immediately destroyed.

The U.S President condemned what he described as Iran's latest of many provocative and hostile actions against ships operating in international waters.
